Waterfowl Trips

Waterfowl Hunting is a strong passion of mine and runs deep in tradition with my family. With 25 years of Waterfowl Hunting expertise, your guide Brennan aims to provide a unique experience on every hunt. Minnesota Duck hunting is action-packed, fast-paced wing-shooting, and the variety of birds you can cross paths with will give you the chance to knock different species off of your bucket list. Our hunts take place over Water Only.

We mainly hunt out of an 1860 Beavertail Boat with a Beavertail Blind, 50 HP Mud Buddy Surface Drive, with Comfortable Pedestal Seats, or from a Lund Alaskan 1800 with a Beavertail Blind, and spacious seating. I will provide 3 Buddy Heaters when it's cold to keep everyone dry and warm. Breakfast will also be provided on a morning hunt! Guide Trips are located 60 miles west of Minneapolis. I cover a 5 County Area locally, as well as Lake Traverse, the famous Lake Christina, and the Ottertail County Region. Our Season starts with the Early Teal Season on a private wetland in a blind. We may also have the opportunity to hunt migrating geese over water if the timing/weather is right.

As we get into October the Divers and Puddle Ducks starting their flight south. When these Migrations happen we see that as an opportunity for a successful hunt. I set a large spread of 20+ dozen decoys to pull these migrating ducks or geese in. We will target a
wide variety of different species mid-season (October-November), Teal, Mallards, Wood Ducks, Gadwall, Wigeon, Buffleheads, Bluebills, Ringnecks, Redheads, Canvasbacks, and Hooded Mergansers. Late season November-Close depending on the weather/migration we will also have the opportunity to chase Goldeneyes over my Hand Painted Goldeneye Spread!

I can hunt up to 3 people out of the boat plus myself. Hunts will take place from half an hour before sunrise to 11 am or end when limits have been filled. I run a limited amount of hunts to ensure quality hunting for all. When Booking a hunt I have two options. You can set a date or you can put a deposit down for an “on-call hunt”. The benefit of getting on our on-call hunt list is you are being called up when the weather is right for a good migration. This allows us to play the weather and not the weather playing us.
